5280 MMA Foundation's mission is simple: to change and improve the lives of children and their families through sport-based youth development. We offer a 100% FREE martial arts program designed for children ages 12 to 16 and the parents thereof who, for multitudes of factors, cannot afford the expense of access to the life-changing and community-improving benefits of a contemporary mixed martial arts program.

Ron Baker, Jr.

Born and raised in northern California's richness of martial arts heritage and legacy, Ron relocated to Denver, CO in 1991. He is a 7th degree black belt in the mixed martial art of Kajukenbo, a synergistic blend of Hawaiian Kenpo karate, Danzan Ryu jujitsu and boxing. Kajukenbo boasts many mixed martial arts athletes and champions in the UFC as well as a host of self-defense specialists.

Ron began his study of martial arts in 1971 in the art of Kenpo, and boxing from his father for much of his childhood. He was a top notch sport karate competitor in the 1980s in California as well as the early 1990s in Denver. Having earned certification as a Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and teaching youth martial arts at the prestigous Life Time Fitness clubs, Shihan Ron (Coach Ron is fine, too) realized that any kid should prosper from the life-changing benefits of martial arts. But like so many sports today, the cost of entry is out of reach for many kids and familes. Through the Kajukenbo 5280 MMA Foundation, Ron expects to make a difference -- six kids at a time.
